OF COURSE YOU’RE A WRITER! a workshop by Karen Graci

Does the idea of writing characters, scenes, sketches or stories intimidate you? Do you want to write, but can’t seem to start? Or are you already a writer, but want new sources of inspiration? If you answered yes, then this is the workshop for you! In this session, you’ll use improv exercises and writing prompts to create written characters with authentic points of view. By being on your feet and out of your head, you’ll tap into organic characters and original ideas for scenes, sketches and/or stories. This is a fun, welcoming class for all improv levels. All you need to bring is a notebook and a pen!

A proud native of Buffalo, NY, Karen Graci is a writer, improviser, actor and Buffalo Bills super fan. While touring with Chicago’s famed Second City National Touring Company, Karen was featured in the theater’s first-ever USO Tour, entertaining American troops in Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. She also performed ten shows a week as a resident cast member in The Best of Second City at The Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas.
Karen is currently Story Editor and Co-Producer for the Adult Swim/Max animated series, My Adventures with Superman. Past writing credits also include: the animated Disney+ show, Hailey’s On It!, the adult, Paramount+ comedy, The Harper House, the critically acclaimed Netflix comedy, Tuca & Bertie, the animated, adult comedy, Filthy Animals, for Stoopid Buddy Stoodios/Rashida Jones’s production company, Le Train Train, and the Netflix comedy, Girlboss. Under a development deal with Cartoon Network, Karen also created an original, animated comedy called Nerd Burglars.
When not writing or performing, Karen counts the days until her beloved Buffalo Sabres make the playoffs again. On a related note, she also sighs a lot and drinks.
