RISE Comedy Festival Submission Details
Festival Dates: July 26 – August 3, 2024
Stand Up: July 26 – 27, 2024
Improv: August 1 – 3, 2024
This year will be our Stand Up competition, First prize is $500, Second Prize is $250 and 3rd is $150 you will also get in front of judges that book other festival such as High Plains Festival and more to be announced.
Submissions Open Now Until May 15, 2024!
Early Bird Rate: 1/9/24 – 2/29/24: $30
Regular Rate: 3/1/24 – 3/31/24: $35
Late Registration Rate: 4/1/24 – 5/15/24: $40
Submitting doesn’t guarantee entrance into the festival!
A submission panel will review tapes and comedians will be selected by that panel.
WHY SHOULD I SUBMIT?
STAND UP:
The RISE Comedy Festival will provide comics with a foot in the door to build relationships, network and tour in the region. Comics will get 5-7 minutes and 2 to 3 sets over the weekend. We will also have industry panels like we did last year when we had folks like the VP of Comedy Development with Comedy Central, where participant of the fest can ask questions and get an inside track in what the industry is looking for. We pride ourselves on building a diverse line up that pulls comics from all over the country, so not only will comics come away from the festival having a lot of fun and getting an opportunity to get great tapes in front of our incredibly welcoming audiences, they will also have new connections in new comedy scenes all over the country to not only return to Denver in the future for more stage time and opportunities but they will build a network for other scenes as well. All while having an awesome time, learning from industries, and enjoying this amazing city!
IMPROV:
The RISE Comedy Festival will feature select improv teams and our intensive ensemble groups during the festival. Perform in front of great Denver crowds who love comedy and get a nice tape out of it too. We will have excursions planned like Meow Wolf, hikes to Red Rocks, BBQ and more! Denver is beautiful in the summer. Groups will get anywhere from 15, 20, 25, 45 minutes depending on your show submission and what you submitted and have been chosen for. We will also have workshops available for attendees as well. At the festival, you’ll get the opportunity to network and meet improvisers and comedians from all over the country.
