Synopsis:
The Weekly Sketch Workshop is for students who want to learn valuable sketch writing tools and different styles of sketches taught by experts and guest instructors. You’ll have access to all our Sketch Writing Instructor at RISE Comedy and sometimes invited guests instructors from writers currently in the industry. These workshops will give you real sketch writer’s room experience. Unlike our curriculum based Sketch Classes, The Weekly Sketch Workshop is designed to move at your own pace, you can go to as many or as few as you want. Skip a week? That’s okay, just hop right back in.
Monthly Workshops Format:
Week 1 – Sketch Writing Workshop – The first week brings you an instructor that will teach you a focus or a sketch format they are an expert in.
Week 2 – Writer’s Lab – Free Write! Writers can finish sketches, start new ones, work on new ideas and get guidance and assistance from our instructors.
Week 3 – Sketch Writing Workshop – Same as week one, either continuing the instruction from week 1 or a new instructor with a new lesson.
Week 4 – Writer’s Room – Students will sit at a table with the other students and teachers, read sketches and material and we will work scripts as a group just like a TV Writer’s Room
Working Writer’s as Special Guest Instructors
We will have special guests teach either In-Person or ZOOM that only you will have access to. Some special guest will include working writers from Disney +, Comedy Central, Netflix, Amazon, and more!
