Improv 601 (Tuesdays 1/27-3/10 @6:30pm-9:15pm)

In Level 601, students will be given the strategies that form strong, collaborative and successful teams. Complete with a show run and your teacher is your coach.

Prerequisite: Level 101-501

Student Showcase: Monday, March 16th OR Tuesday March 17th

Instructor:Rob Lecrone began acting and doing improv in the 90’s in his hometown of Anchorage, Alaska. He has a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a Master of Fine Arts in Acting in Television, Film, and Theatre from Cal State LA, where he also taught acting to undergrads. In LA, Rob graduated from the Upright Citizens Brigade improv program, studied improv at the Clubhouse, and studied acting at the Howard Fine Studio. In New York, he studied in the Hagen Teacher’s Lab at HB Studio. In Albuquerque, he studied improv at The Box Performance Space. Rob is a member of Albuquerque improv-team, Left on Read (formerly Tasteful Nudes); Denver team, Future Ghost; and online team, Squirrely Bird (which also performed live in New York). For almost a decade, he has been a featured artist at the Valdez Theatre Conference where he coaches in the Monologue Workshop; co-curates, co-organizes, and co-hosts the nightly Valdez Fringe; acts in the Play Lab and sometimes in mainstage productions; and is a panelist respondent for new play development. Rob currently teaches a weekly online acting class, and besides studying and teaching improv and Hagen-based acting, has also trained in stage combat, classical acting, Viewpoints, Fitzmaurice Voicework, Lecoq Technique, Alexander Technique, Barrantes’ Voice System, devised theatre, and more. Rob recently appeared as a government agent in a funny scene in The Unexpecteds, a feature film starring Upright Citizens Brigade co-founder, Matt Walsh. www.roblecrone.com

We understand that financial circumstances can sometimes make participation challenging. Please know that your presence, voice and contributions are valued here, and we are committed to making our programs as accessible as possible.

We have a few ways to help folks experience our classes. First off, all of our volunteers can take up to one full level class every term. Our volunteers learn positions at the theater and agree to a regular schedule at either our box office, tech booth, or our HM position which helps get the shows started on time. If you have a skill or trade or item that could be of benefit the theater, we're open to talking to you about it. We also offer payment plans for more flexibility, look into them at check out.

If those options aren't helpful, we offer an inclusion scholarship that will help Rise best reflect Denver. If you feel that you have a perspective and experience that Rise could benefit from we offer scholarships each term for our leveled classes. Apply below.
