Most of all\, you’ll have a BLAST!\n\nPrerequisite: All Levels are Welcome!\nStudent Showcase:  Monday May 18th ( date is subject to change)\nInstructor:  Asa Erlendson and Improv officially met in 2007 at Pitzer College in the group Without A Box. Things got hot and heavy when he co-founded a group called ImpRAWv in which he had a transcendent experience in an experiment called The Beehive (watch “My Dinner With Andre” to get the reference). When he moved back home to Denver in 2011\, Asa and Improv started going steady while at the Bovine Metropolis. First\, as a student\, and eventually as a coach and teacher. Things got really serious when he joined the group Governor Jack. With Governor Jack\, Asa was able to meet\, study with\, and perform with amazing improvisers from cities and schools all around the country while absconding to festivals in Denver\, and from New York City to Salt Lake City\, but no further West than that… yet. Since they first met\, Improv has introduced Asa to a variety of genres\, styles\, and forms. He can truly say he is a better person for knowing Improv. And even though he has messed around with sketch and has a growing friendship with stand-up\, his heart will always belong to Improv\, its community and all of its teachers and students.

DESCRIPTION:Mic Drop Comedy Workshop is every Wednesday from 6-8 PM before the open mic. Please include your name and the date you are signing up for. It is not guaranteed that you will get a turn every week\, however\, if you do not get a turn you will be moved to the front of the list the following week.  If you do not attend the following week\, your spot in line will be forfeited and you will need to sign up again. The event is free to attend and giving notes and listening to others feedback can be an awesome tool for improving your joke writing. If you do get up for a set there will be a $10 suggested donation paid in cash or venmo to @cabuchsy at the end of each workshop. Every set is given 6 minutes to run material and get feedback from the room. SUMMARY:Acting Techniques for Improvisers with Toby Yount
DESCRIPTION:What to learn acting techniques to level up your improv? Want to learn improv techniques to help your script analyisis and your acting? In this workshop we plan to do both.\n\nAnytime you are on stage you are doing some form of acting whether scripted or unscripted\,  playing close to yourself or a larger than life character you are acting. I will guide you through exercises that help you find your want in a scene\, keep your characters believable\, explore subtext\, and staying engaged and present with your scene partner. When we get to the script analyisis section of the worksho I will be primarily be using Richard Brestoff and Uta Hagen acting principles. If any of this sounds like something you love come on by and take this workshop! For this workshop I will say you will need at least one year of improv or acting training and/or performance experience to get the most out of this. \nstructor: Toby Yount  (They/He) is an actor/improviser from Denver\, Colorado. Toby blends over a decade of improv experience and training from Bovine Theater\, Annoyance\, and IO in Chicago\, with an MFA in Acting from Savannah College Art of Design. Toby uses their acting-improv fusion techniques to create absurd and grounded characters – often at the same time. In addition to winning Season 7 of Denver’s Next Improv Star at the Bovine Theater\, they have performed in Bad Play Done Terribly\, does a solo improv show Toybox\, and are proud to be the second half of the Denver-grown improv duo Chocolate Thunder and Vanilla Lightning. Toby has also worked as a professional actor for companies such as Phamaly Theater Company\, Curious Theater Company\, and toured internationally as a performer for the True Colors Festival in Japan and written his own one man show SIlicon Soul that he performed in the Denver Fringe Festival. Through following his dreams and aspirations of becoming a professional voice actor\, actor\, writer\, and comedian\, Toby has discovered a passion for teaching improv that they’d be honored to share with you all.

DESCRIPTION:Mic Drop Comedy Workshop is every Wednesday from 6-8 PM before the open mic. Please include your name and the date you are signing up for. It is not guaranteed that you will get a turn every week\, however\, if you do not get a turn you will be moved to the front of the list the following week.  If you do not attend the following week\, your spot in line will be forfeited and you will need to sign up again. The event is free to attend and giving notes and listening to others feedback can be an awesome tool for improving your joke writing. If you do get up for a set there will be a $10 suggested donation paid in cash or venmo to @cabuchsy at the end of each workshop. Every set is given 6 minutes to run material and get feedback from the room.
