  • This intensive takes place on October 6th - October 9th from 10am-5pm with an hour lunch break at 1pm each day.

WRITE AND PERFORM A SKETCH SHOW (10/6-10/9 @10am-5pm)

This intensive takes place on October 6th – October 9th from 10am-5pm with an hour lunch break at 1pm each day.

In this high-energy sketch comedy intensive, you’ll work hands-on with an experienced sketch comedy head writer/director and your fellow sketch comedy classmates to generate usable, stage-ready material – fast. Using time-tested tools and techniques from professional writers’ rooms, you’ll create original sketches designed for live performance. If you’ve ever wanted to experience the thrilling rush of an SNL-style production schedule, this sketch comedy intensive is for you! Please note: this intensive will require time outside of class to generate, write, and memorize material for rehearsals and show.

Instructor: With two decades at THE SECOND CITY Comedy Theatre, Marc Warzecha is an award-winning HEAD WRITER and ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, overseeing dozens of original sketch comedy revues across North America including multiple productions at The Kennedy Center (Washington DC), The Second City – Mainstage and ETC (Chicago), and The Kirk Douglas Theatre (Los Angeles) featuring sketch writer/performers who have been featured on SNL, Key & Peele, Ted Lasso, Netflix’s I Think You Should Leave, FOX’s The Simpsons, HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show, and many more. Marc has facilitated private workshops for a wide variety of clients including Netflix, Intel, The Capital Group, Ford Motor Company, Duke University, and CalArts.  Internationally, Marc has been a cultural representative of the United States Embassy in LATVIA and NORWAY, and a guest instructor for the Comedy Central network in SPAIN, and Yoshimoto Comedy in JAPAN. Marc has been a guest on CNN’s “Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer” and NPR’s “All Things Considered.” Currently living in Los Angeles, he is a proud native Detroiter and Armenian.
