The Absurdity of Improv with James Quesada - Saturday, August 2, 2025 @ 2:00 PM
This workshop invites improvisers to reconnect with the wild, unpredictable heart of improv. Students will abandon the idea of “getting it right” as we tackle unwinnable challenges, experiment with nonsense, and embrace failure in new and refreshing ways. Expect to walk away with some new improv philosophies and practical tools to help you navigate chaos, confusion, and moments on stage when everything SEEMS to fall apart!
Instructor: James Quesada is the co-creator of Sounds Funny – an NYC-based comedy collective that produces podcasts, web series, comedy albums, and live shows. He’s known for creating exciting and innovative show concepts and improv games. James is one half of the improv duo ‘Quicksand’ with his partner Julia Schroeder, and they’ve been featured in festivals all over the country for the past 10 years. You can also find James spouting his improv philosophy and tips on his social media channel Improv FAQ.
