Team Improv Jam

We’re inviting all Denver teams to take part in our team jam! This is for any team in the area, but newly formed teams and show ideas are also highly encouraged.

Show up and sign up your team to perform a ~10 minute set (set times depend on the number of teams that show up).

This will be a good chance to get some time on stage with your team in front of a friendly audience made up of the community.

Team Jam – If your team has been performing three weeks in a row, you’ll be eligible for a longer set to play at the Jam.

NOTES:
*If there are too many teams, we will draw from a bucket and if you didn’t get on you’ll be eligible until you get onstage.

BASEMENT DOCTORS
A long form improv troupe in which none of the performers has a PhD (well… one of us does now…). Each show is inspired by a text message from the audience and always gives doses of excitement and emotion. As hosts of the weekly Team Jam on Thursday nights, Basement Doctors is well engrained in the RISE community. Each show, we invite a few teams from the Thursday night Team Jam to perform before us. We want to showcase the talented performers that have helped make this community so strong and one of a kind. Come out and join us for a laugh… Doctors’ orders.

NECROMANCER
Necromancer summons apparitions via improv. these apparitions are also known as “characters.” these characters have fears, desires, and deep, dark secrets. they write about these things in their diaries. the audience becomes privy to the content of their diaries thanks to a series of hexes and curses. and then, if the ritual has been performed correctly, the audience engages in laughter.

Benign Nuisance is an ensemble that embodies the spirit of organic discovery. In our performances, rigid narratives and predetermined plots give way to the exhilarating spontaneity of moment-to-moment improvisation. Our forte lies in the realm of organic, long-form improv, where each scene unfolds naturally, guided by genuine, in-the-moment interactions. As we explore this uncharted territory, we revel in the art of subtly escalating tension and the delight of playful uncertainty. Our goal is to captivate and slightly unsettle our audience, inviting them to join us in the unique, ever-evolving journey of each performance.
