RISE Comedy Summer Improv Intensive 2022 [Intensive] (Mon 7/11 – Thu 7/14)
RISE Comedy is excited to announce that we’re holding a summer improv intensive. We’ve brought some of the best teachers and performers in improvisation together for a 4 day intensive. You’ll get 6 hours from each of our visiting instructors for a total of 24 hours of improv training. Intensive students will also form an ensemble team that will get a performance slot in the RISE Comedy Festival taking place that same week.
Classes sessions will start at 10am and conclude at 5pm, with an hour long break at 1pm from Monday thru Thursday. Wednesday night we will be holding an improv jam for our community where you’ll get a chance to play with our intensive teachers.
We offer payment plans of half upfront and the rest a few weeks out from the intensive. Email [email protected] for details.

Summer Intensive 2021 Instructors
Carla Cackowski is a writer and improviser living in Los Angeles. She regularly tours with her two person improv show, “Orange Tuxedo”. Carla performed on cruiseships with The Second City and performed on mainstage Harold Teams at both iO West and UCB Los Angeles. She directed the International Ensemble at the Vancouver Improv Festival in the fall of 2018 and has traveled all over the world teaching and performing in comedy festivals. Carla taught improv and sketch comedy for ten years at The Second City in Hollywood and is the former Artistic Director at Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica, CA. www.carlacackowski.com
Patrick Rowland is a writer, comedian, and actor from Chicago, now residing in Los Angeles. He’s studied and taught at The Second City and iO Theater. His solo character work was featured in Alone, Chicago’s Best Solo Comedy at The TBS Just For Laughs Festival in 2013. Austin Comedy Short Film Festival nominated Patrick as Best Supporting Actor for his work in Mr. Mainframe. He is the creator of The Patrick Rowland Sketch Show, a web series he writes produces, directs, and films himself on an iPhone. He is a founding member of 3Peat, a critically acclaimed, award-winning sketch/improv troupe, who has several sketches with Comedy Central’s Digital platform, their most successful, The Blackening, garnered over 15 million views, and is currently being made into a feature. Patrick hosted a late-night talk show as former President Barack Obama called Barack All Night. Most recently, he participated in a virtual roundtable for Sony Pictures, which was led by Girls Trip producer and writer Tracy Oliver. Craig Cackowski is an actor, improvisor and teacher based in Los Angeles. He was involved with the iO and iO West (RIP) theaters from 1992-2018, and was the three-time winner of the Del Close Award as Teacher of the Year at iO West. He has played numerous improv festivals around the US with his long-running three-man troupe Dasariski (with Bob Dassie and Rich Talarico) and his duo Orange Tuxedo (with his wife Carla!). While in Chicago, he appeared in and co-wrote 5 revues for The Second City, and helped create such improv forms as JTS Brown and Close Quarters. As an actor, he has been seen in recurring roles on such shows as Community, Veep, Drunk History, and Mindy Kaling’s Sex Lives Of College Girls (currently on HBOMax). He may be heard frequently on such podcasts as The Thrilling Adventure Hour, Kevin Pollak’s Alchemy This and his own podcast Craig’s List, in which he makes Carla watch his 100 favorite movies.
Jaime Moyer is an actress, writer, and instructor who currently resides in Los Angeles. Jaime is a proud member of the acting unions SAG-AFTRA and AEA, and she has taught (and performed) all over the country including workshops at Washington Improv Theater, Dallas Comedy House, Asheville Improv Collective, The Arcade Theater, Go! Comedy, Dosage Improv Workshops, Unscrewed Theater, The Siren Theater, Planet Ant Theater, The Sketch School, The Second City, Camp Improv Utopia, Angel Comedy in the UK, ICC Theater in Denmark, and many others. On camera Jaime has voiced two characters on Bob’s Burgers, has guest starred on the new Fox animation The Great North, and has recurring roles on many sitcoms including: AP Bio, Netflix series The Big Show Show, Modern Family, and Disney’s hit show KC Undercover. Jaime also appeared on Parks and Recreation, 2 Broke Girls, Jennifer Falls, Detroiters, Future Man, and more. Jaime wrote for three seasons of Nickelodeon’s LEGO City Adventures, where she helped create many memorable original characters. Jaime has a lifelong love affair with live theater and has numerous stage credits. She is also an alum of The Second City – Detroit where she wrote and starred in original revues.
