In this one-night workshop, late night writer Nicole Conlan will teach you the skills needed to thrive in a late night writers room. We’ll cover monologue jokes and structure, writing in a host’s voice, building jokes out into photo and video formats, and more. We’ll also discuss the differences between writing standup material and late night monologues and how to adapt your skills for YouTube or TikTok content. You’ll also pick up the most valuable tool a late night writer has – the ability to write FAST. By the end of class, you’ll have the skill set to write a monologue for any late night packet, or even better, a piece to film on your own.
