Improv For Life w/ Holly Laurent (Sun 5/2)

This two hour intensive workshop focuses on the psychology of performance (building trust and self confidence,) better listening (on stage and in life,) and the art of failure and risk. We will explore a few simple tools that make playing more carefree and living more joyful. [Half lecture and discussion/half scene work. All levels.]

Holly Laurent Headshot Holly Laurent is an LA based director, comic and writer. A Chicago native, she is an alumnus of the Second City main stage where she wrote and performed three critically acclaimed revues. She is the creator/host of the hit podcast MEGA and is a featured essayist on the nationally syndicated radio variety show Live From Here (APM). Past credits include: TBS Just For Laughs Festival Montreal, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and The Second City national touring company. Holly received an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from Columbia College, and performs at the Upright Citizens Brigade. Her award winning short film Brought to You by Satan made its festival premiere in 2019. Her film and television credits include All Rise (CBS), Tacoma FD (truTV), Drunk History (Comedy Central), Food: The Source of Life (Adult Swim), Key & Peele (Comedy Central), Barely Famous (VH1), Funny or Die: Exclusives and The Late Late Show with James Corden (CBS).
