Acting for Live Comedy w/ Megan Goldman [Workshop]
Acting for Live Comedy is a one day workshop for comedy newbies and veterans alike who want a tune up on performance. This workshop leans heavily on improv to focus on making strong, engaging characters using physicality, voice, creative staging, timing and pacing, and motivation. Megan pulls from her training at The Groundlings, UCB and The Pack, as well as her background performing children’s theater and at theme parks to create interesting, fully formed characters.
Megan (www.megangoldman.com) is a sketch comedian based in Los Angeles. As a veteran member of the Pack Theater’s Sketch Night in Hollywood, CA, Megan has contributed to writing and performing a new sketch show every month for the last four years. She first wrote and performed with Haymaker (@HaymakerComedy) directed by Eric Moneypenny (FoxADHD, Eric Andre Show, AOK) and now is a member of Royale (@RoyaleSketch) directed by Joe Wagner (Joker’s Wild, After Lately, Between Two Ferns.) Her teams have performed at showcases, cage matches and festivals. She’s studied at UCB, Groundlings, and of course, The Pack Theater where she’s gotten to work with Heather Ann Campbell (Twilight Zone, Whose Line Is It Anyway,) Sam Brown (Whitest Kids U’Know) and many other working professionals. Her work has been featured on Comedy Cake and WhoHaHa. In 2018, she co-produced and performed in Drunk Bible Stories, an improv/ storytelling show, at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Yes, she was drunk. The show earned an Encore award.
